Community Calls Host
The monthly community calls are open to all members as a free APDO benefit. The calls are accessed virtually and each month there will be a different subject to discuss, where members can share their knowledge, questions or experiences. The themes are usually based on working in your business or working on your business.
Overview of role:
The main responsibility of this role is to facilitate a 1 hour community call for members via ZOOM every other month using the APDO Zoom account. The role is shared with another volunteer. Subjects are agreed in advance with the other community call volunteer and the membership director.
During the call, you will be introducing yourself and usually a board member, sharing APDO news and then leading a discussion on a pre-agreed subject and encouraging members to participate by asking open questions. The purpose of these calls is to share and widen our knowledge as professional organisers whilst offering support to each other.
Key involvement:
A 1 hour call every other month plus planning time to do some research regarding that month’s subject. You will also be required to attend a couple of planning meetings per year with the other community call volunteer and the membership director to plan the subjects and dates for the year ahead. There may be additional meetings in between as required. The calls aren’t training and you do not need to be an expert in any of the subjects discussed, the preparation is so that you can initiate conversation amongst members. Preparing descriptions of each community call topic so that the admin team can communicate and advertise this to members.
Internal Content Creator
Do you enjoy writing, shaping ideas, and keeping people connected?
We are looking for a volunteer Internal Content Creator to help write articles and coordinate content for our internal newsletter and members-only Facebook channel. You’ll play a key role in keeping members informed, engaged and connected, working closely with the Internal Communications team in a supportive, collaborative environment.
This role is ideal if you enjoy storytelling, organising content, and contributing to a professional community.
Social Media Support
APDO has a thriving social media presence which the external communications team continues to grow. To support our ongoing strategy of engagement, outreach and growth, we require the Social Media Support volunteer to share (with other Social Media Support volunteers) the task of checking our Instagram and Facebook accounts for any interactions, questions, direct messages and posts that need action, as well as extending our reach by finding and engaging with other, relevant accounts.
Overview of role:
On a rota basis, the Social Media Support volunteer is required to:
- Check our public Facebook, Instagram and Linked In pages and respond to any interactions, comments, and messages in a proactive and appropriate manner.
- Repost content (which has been created by other members of the communications team) on APDO IG and FB stories.
- Proactively research and seek out relevant accounts that are beneficial for APDO to engage with, and to engage with those accounts.
Training and ongoing guidance and support will be given.
