Declutter and Breathe
United Kingdom

If your home feels overwhelming, emotionally heavy or impossible to get on top of, you are not alone — and you do not need to be judged or “fixed” to create change.

At Declutter & Breathe, you are supported in a compassionate, trauma‑informed and realistic way that honours both the practical and emotional layers of clutter, because clutter is rarely just about 'too much stuff'. It often reflects the mental load you’re carrying, the pressure your nervous system is under and the pace of everyday life.

When your environment feels chaotic or overstimulating, your nervous system can stay stuck in overwhelm, making it harder to make decisions, start tasks or let things go. My approach gently supports nervous system regulation throughout the decluttering process, helping you create a home that feels calmer, safer, easier to manage and more supportive of daily life.

With a background in social work, I understand the emotional weight a home can hold and how vulnerable it can feel to let someone into your space. Sessions are person‑centred, neurodivergent‑affirming and completely judgement‑free. You will be guided with calm, steady direction and when needed, I will offer gentle, compassionate challenge to help you move through the moments where you feel stuck.

The pace is always led by you but you are never left to navigate it alone. Clients often tell me they feel deeply understood, supported and surprised by how much we achieve together, both emotionally and practically.

Support is particularly suited to overwhelmed women, busy professionals and families, including those with ADHD or additional emotional barriers around clutter and letting go. As an ADHD‑trained organiser with Level 1 Hoarding Awareness training, I adapt the process to work with your nervous system and your capacity, never against it.

Declutter & Breathe offers in‑person organising support across Essex, as well as virtual sessions for clients worldwide.

In 2025, I was awarded Professional Organiser of the Year in the Clean & Tidy Awards in recognition of both the work I do and the compassionate, trauma‑informed approach I bring to every client.

I also speak locally on topics including overwhelm, clutter, neurodivergence and nervous system regulation, and am available for workshops, webinars and speaking opportunities.

Specialisms

Life Coaching

As a registered Social Worker with Social Work England, my practice is grounded in trauma‑informed principles and a deep understanding of how life experiences, nervous‑system responses and emotional patterns shape the way we live in our homes. While I don’t describe my work as life coaching, many clients experience our sessions as a blend of practical support and meaningful personal insight. Together, we explore the emotional barriers, beliefs and nervous‑system responses that make daily life feel overwhelming, while building confidence, clarity and sustainable habits. My role is to hold space with calm professionalism, offer steady guidance, and support you in creating change that feels safe, empowering and genuinely aligned with who you are.

Hoarding behaviour

As a practitioner with Level 1 Hoarding Awareness training, I support clients who experience hoarding behaviours with a calm, steady and trauma‑informed approach. Hoarding is never simply about the volume of belongings, it is often connected to grief, trauma, identity, safety, or a nervous system that has learned to cope by holding on. I understand how exposing or vulnerable it can feel to let someone into your home, and I work at a pace that feels safe while still offering clear direction and gentle challenge when needed.

I work specifically with clients who feel ready, even if only in a small way to begin letting go. This readiness is essential for the work to be supportive rather than overwhelming. If you are keen to start, open to exploring change, or able to release items with guidance, I can help you move forward in a way that honours both your emotional world and your physical space. My role is to hold space for the complexity, respect your autonomy and support you in making meaningful, sustainable change without pressure, judgement or force.

ADHD

As an ADHD‑trained organiser, I specialise in supporting clients whose brains work differently and who often feel misunderstood or overwhelmed by traditional organising methods. ADHD can make decision‑making, task initiation and emotional regulation harder, especially when clutter has built up over time. My approach is designed to work with your brain, not against it. Sessions are structured, steady and supportive, offering clear direction without pressure and gentle challenge when you need help moving through sticking points. Together, we create systems that are realistic, sustainable and tailored to your capacity, so you can experience both practical change and the deep relief of finally feeling understood.

Suz at Declutter and Breathe is pure magic. I was completely stuck, overwhelmed, and didn’t know where to start — and somehow she came in and just got it, without needing me to explain a thing. She works so intuitively and respectfully, meeting me exactly where I was. No radio, no music, no forced small talk — just calm, focused support, in my own way. She noticed my sighs, my moments of struggle, and seemed to know instinctively when to step in and how to bring everything together. We worked for five hours, and it was worth every single minute. I felt lighter, clearer, and finally back in control. I honestly can’t recommend her enough.
Suz's sessions are life changing. Clearing the clutter and creating new systems for better organisation truly has a day-to-day impact on running your home, and feeling calmer and less overwhelmed in your home. Being with Suz is like chatting to an old friend over a cuppa, but one who has a brilliant eye for organisation and asks all the right questions to help you let go of clutter. Suz is completely calming and non-judgemental, she creates a safe space where you don't need to feel embarrassed or worried about any area of your home you might need help with. I'm so glad Suz was recommended to me and I highly recommend her services.
Our family has been working with Suz for some time to establish order and reduce paralysing levels of clutter. She shows an amazing understanding of neurodiversity and how to support those for whom that presents extra challenges. She comes from a space of compassion and gentle yet firm support. I cannot recommend her enough, either in person or through one of her remote services.
