For the Love of Things (FLoT)
United Kingdom

Perhaps some of these statements or questions resonate for you …

Will I feel judged?’

‘I’m embarrassed of the mess in my home’

‘will it feel uncomfortable to have a stranger in my space?’

‘what happens if I get overwhelmed?’

‘how will I keep on maintaining my space after you’ve gone?’

‘why can’t I do this myself?’

I’ve had so many different experiences, and I don’t judge anyone’s situation. Our sessions are confidential, we work together and I support you — with kindness — through whatever you feel needs addressing most, whether it’s a quick solution for busy parents or a more emotional journey unpicking years of items that have been neglected. Together we follow your needs and figure out solutions that will work best for you in your own living space.

‘For the Love of Things’ was created because I know that people benefit from support sorting through their belongings. Years of working with collections in museums, caring for objects and records — plus a doctorate in Museum Anthropology and training with APDO — means I’m experienced in listening to people tell me personal stories and I’m super well qualified for organising and classifying!

Sophie is a master of her craft! Having moved from a big house to a smaller one, I had three rooms that were just impassable. Unflappable and calm, Sohpie helped me to sort my stuff and to decide what to keep and what the throw. She has a light touch but strong enough to ensure order out of chaos and teach techniques and skills to keep one’s living space in a more ordered state. She is a life saver, but is blest with a sense of humour and is totally non judgmental. Sophie – Queen of order! (Helen, South London February 2024)
Hi Sophie, thanks for a great afternoon of organising! I feel a great sense of achievement and you actually make something I usually hate really fun! Looking forward to the next time (Rosalie, South London November 2023)
From the moment I spoke to Sophie on the phone I knew that she was the right person to help with my decluttering project. It was something I was very ashamed about, but she made me feel at ease and the experience was judgement free. In our first session she helped me un-do a decade’s worth of stationery hoarding and came up with a user-friendly organisation system that works with my ADHD. Sophie’s a lovely person and very skilled at what she does – I couldn’t recommend her more! (Madeleine, South London Sept 2025)
