Hello! My name is Heather Martin and I am the founder of The Organising Experts® and a qualified KonMari® Consultant based in Cheshire. We are on a mission to not only help people declutter and organise their homes but also style their homes in the process. Our goal is to make a home not only function better through organisation but also look and feel incredible through design.

KonMari Consultant
The KonMari Method® is a form or decluttering and organising that was created by Marie Kondo over a decade ago following the publication of her first book “The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up”. It instantly became a cult hit and has been translated into 44 languages, which collectively have sold more than 13 million copies worldwide. Her first television show, “Tidying Up With Marie Kondo” was Netflix’s #1 non-fiction release in 2019 and earned 7 award nominations – 2 Emmys, 3 Critics Choice Awards, 1 Realscreen Award and 1 TCA Award.
What makes the KonMari Method® special is that it's goal is to help people live a life that sparks joy using the simplest and most effective tools and services. People around the world have been drawn to the philosophy not only because of its effectiveness but also because it places great importance on being mindful, introspective and forward-looking. It changes the relationships between people, their things, and their spaces and certified KonMari® Consultants are exclusively and uniquely equipped to transform lives through tidying and organisation.
The KonMari Method® encourages tidying by category - not by location - like more traditional approaches. It begins with clothes, then moves onto books, papers, komono (miscellaneous) and finally sentimental items. It encourages people to only keep things that speak to the heart and spark joy. If they don't spark joy then they should be let go with gratitude. The method uses 6 rules for success: commit yourself to tidying up, imagine your ideal lifestyle, finish discarding first, tidy by category not location and follow the right order (clothes, books, paper, komono and then sentimental).
I qualified as a certified KonMari Consultant in October 2024. I am one of 29 in the UK, 519 in the world and the only one based in Cheshire.
Having recently completed a three month decluttering experience using the KonMari Method I would like to record my testimonial regarding the efforts of Heather Martin my KonMari Consultant. From day 1 Heather has provided excellent guidance and support through the process of decluttering and re-organising my complex assembly of belongings. Having lived in the same house for 47 years the enormity of the task in bringing order to my miscellaneous storage systems cannot be under-estimated. However, Heather approached it with determination and considerable skill. Never did she show frustration with the task faced or with my performance, halting though this was on occasions. Heather gave superb guidance at all stages of the Method and, beyond that, she demonstrated empathy and tact when dealing with hiccups experienced during the process. She displayed an excellent understanding of the KonMari Method and gave very good advice re the logic of the stages of the process.
