Where is training held?
APDO currently runs courses in London and Manchester but aims in future to offer training in additional locations and online. If you’d like us to run a course near you and can help to organise it, do get in touch.
Who runs the training?
APDO courses are led by at least 2 trainers drawn from a team of Board members, all experienced POs: Juliet Landau-Pope (JLPCoach and APDO head of training); Ingrid Jansen (Organise Your House and APDO president), Lesley Spellman (The Clutter Fairy and APDO head of mentoring and web development). Sarah Bickers (Free Your Space) and Jasmine Sleigh (Change Your Space).
How is the training run?
APDO trainers share expertise and lead discussion in a structured but friendly setting. All sessions are informative, inspiring and interactive; they include brainstorming, exercises in pairs/small groups and plenty of opportunity for questions.
How much does training cost?
Both training courses (Starting Your Professional Organising Business and Developing Your Professional Organising Business) cost £299 for APDO members and £349 for non-members but members benefit from early-bird discounts. Prices include all course materials, lunch and refreshments. Mentoring calls cost £50 for APDO members and £60 for non-members.
Can I do the training online?
Not yet but we aim to offer online training in future.
Are there any restrictions on who can attend?
Training courses are open to everyone over the age of 18. Mentoring is available to members of APDO and non-members.
Can I do the training if I have a disability?
Our training venues are fully accessible. Please let us know in advance if you have any access needs so that we can make special arrangements, if necessary.
I haven't yet decided if a PO career is right for me. Can I still come?
The Starting a Professional Organising Business is an ideal way to learn about the organising industry. So even if you haven’t yet started your own business, you’re welcome to attend the course to find out more about the profession.
I’m an experienced PO. Is there any training relevant to me?
Many experienced POs find the Starting A Professional Organising Business course helpful because it covers a wide range of business topics. Developing Your Professional Organising Business is aimed at POs who have run their own business for at least 2 years and are ready to grow or develop it further.
What are the timings for the training courses?
Courses run from 9.00 – 17.00 with breaks for lunch and refreshments. We pack a lot into a single day of training so ask that you arrive promptly.
What happens if I need to cancel?
Bookings are non-refundable but may be transferrable to another date if you let us know at least 2 weeks before the date of the course that you booked. There is an administrative fee of £30 for transferring your booking.
I have a query not answered above. Who do I ask?

I'm an APDO member. Can I send an assistant to a training course?
If you work with an assistant, you're welcome to enrol them on an APDO training course but the member's discount will only apply to APDO members, not their employees or assistants. You may wish to apply for Colleague Membership so that your assistant can take advantage of discounts for training as well as our annual conference.
