Spring Clearing Week: 1-7 April 2019

APDO launched Spring Clearing Week in 2018.

Research by MoneyMagpie in 2017 found that 50% of the UK population have ditched the traditional spring clean citing a lack of time, apathy and the ongoing cleanliness of the home as their reasons for doing so. APDO Association of Professional Declutterers and Organisers is keen to ensure that this valuable chance to clear the decks of any physical (and consequently mental) clutter is not abandoned too so they launched Spring Clearing Week in 2018 to highlight the benefits of an annual review of our ‘stuff’.

Springtime is a time of renewal and growth; the days getting longer and many of us enjoy an increase in energy levels and have a spring in our step! It’s a great chance to take stock of what you want to do and achieve in the coming year. It’s a good time to pick up any fallen new year resolutions and focus on whether your environment is really helping you to achieve those goals.

During Spring Clearing Week, APDO’s members across the UK and beyond will be advising and encouraging you to clear everything surplus in your life by

  • Blogging on APDO’s blog and partner websites
  • Providing tips on social media
  • Featuring in newspapers and magazines
  • Running workshops, coffee mornings and information sessions in local libraries and community centres
  • Working with charities and donating a day of their time to help them clear the decks too
  • And much more!

How do APDO members help?

The task of tackling clutter on your own can often feel overwhelming. This is when an expert can work with you and clear a path through the mess, and the stress it causes, to unveil a calmer life and home.

Working with you, a professional organiser can suggest ways of making the most of the space you have. You’ll be able to find everything you need, whenever you need it. And in the future, you’ll find it easier to control your clutter.

APDO members have helped thousands of people all over the country save time and money by sorting out their stuff. Find inspiration and motivation via the guest blogs on the News & Media page or on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Google Plus

Spring Clearing Week aims to inspire people to think about the clutter they are living with and encourage them to take action and do something about it. Of course, APDO members provide one-to-one support all year round. You can find a local organiser here.

APDO members will be writing a different daily guest blog for the APDO website throughout the week, providing motivation and inspiration on all aspects of decluttering and clearing the decks this springtime.

Members will also be writing a number of blogs for external organisations to share their advice far and wide.
