Peace by Piece
United Kingdom

I’m Lizzie Cook, a professional declutterer based in Penzance, Cornwall.

I have the privilege of helping people organise, piece by piece to make their physical and mental spaces both healthier and more peaceful.

What I offer:

I welcome working in a non-judgemental and completely confidential way with a diversity of people - no matter what your needs are, I can help.

For example, situations such as:

• Creative rearranging

• Moving/selling house

• Decluttering after bereavement

• Wardrobe edits

• garage/shed clear-outs

• Packing and unpacking

• Stress caused by chronic disorganisation

What I’ve learnt on my journey as a declutterer (so far!):

 • Decluttering is essentially simplifying, reducing paralysing overwhelm and creating healthy habits.

 • I believe that asking for help is a type of self care.

 • It’s important for me to be proactively connected to a wide range of resources to offer a holistic approach to my clients’ individual wellbeing. (Healthcare providers, charities, life coaches, dietitians, therapists, community hubs and more.)

 • The process of decluttering is at its most transformative when the client is really ready and open to change.

 • Every client is different and gifts me with greater understandings of how unique everyone truly is.

 • People are fatigued by the weight of their bought possessions, which is particularly common in this time of hyper consumerism. It’s a joy for me to be able to help lessen feelings of exhausting overwhelm.

. Shame gathers its strength by lurking in the shadows, we diminish its power by bringing those parts of ourselves into the light.

 • Everyone I’ve worked closely with, as soon as we begin clearing space, has made room for the things that they want most in life.

Thank you to all my clients, past and present and I very much welcome any questions - please feel free to drop me a message if you’d like to know more.

Best wishes

Lizzie

ADHD

I myself have ADHD which gives me a real insight and understanding about which approaches work for those who struggle which chronic disorganisation. I work with an ADHD coach and I know that getting support is the best way for those with AHDH to feel less overwhelmed. Body Doubling is really effective and I find that just working alongside people who get stuck, really works!

Move Management

I have supported in preparing homes for sale post bereavement. This is an overwhelming time and offering person centred support at this emotional time as really helped my clients to work through this challenging process. I have also supported clients before a move - decluttering and packing as we go - this is a great way to decrease the stress of a move. One of my most recent clients successfully sold her home after decluttering and home staging. Having less clutter made the home staging part far easier. Viewers were able to see the home and imagine themselves living there - often when there is a lot of visual clutter, it is hard for viewers to imagine themselves in the spaces.

"Working with Lizzie over the past month has been an absolute game-changer! I wanted to declutter in preparation for moving house, and the results have been incredible. Lizzie’s calm and reassuring presence made such a difference, I always felt clear and focused during our sessions. She led the process with calm and confidence, breaking everything down into manageable steps so it never felt overwhelming. She helped me streamline my wardrobe, which was so liberating, and now everything has its own place. No more clutter or confusion! As someone who has ADHD one of the best parts was rediscovering so many items I’d completely forgotten about. It’s going to save me a fortune when I move because I won’t need to replace things I already have with double buying. On top of that, I’ve managed to sell loads of items on Vinted, which has almost entirely covered the cost of working with Lizzie. Her support and expertise have been invaluable, and I feel so much lighter and more organised as I get ready for this next chapter. If you’re considering decluttering, I couldn’t recommend Lizzie more - she’s amazing!" EB
"The process felt really manageable - which was a total contrast to how it had felt before. We just worked gently but systematically through things. Lizzie was by my side at each step and when she could see I was struggling, would ask a carefully chosen question or suggestion to put me back on track and that would help me refocus." ZC
"Lizzie helped me clear a room in my Dads house so we could have a live-in carer. I had a plan, but it was great to have an extra pair of hands and someone who intuitively knew how to work efficiently, but sensitively. And also support me when I got overwhelmed." JG
