Hi, my name’s Liz and I started The Home Sorter as I have a passion for creating organised spaces and paperwork, and staging property to look its best.

I believe living in a clutter-free space has a powerful positive impact on our physical and mental wellbeing.

Having bought and sold homes I’ve developed a real eye for staging them to look their best, inside and out, for prospective buyers.

As a qualified accountant with over 25 years’ experience, I’m naturally professional and confidential. As you'd expect, I’m well-organised, logical, and skilled at planning, with an eye for detail. I’m also a good listener.

My decluttering services provide efficient paperwork and digital management to simplify the process of finding your important documents and files. By decluttering digitally, you can regain control of your inbox. Additionally, my organising services enable you to identify and secure your digital legacy, while also providing photo organising for all your digital and physical photos.

Home Staging

I can help you to make the most of your home before it goes to market, or, if your property isn’t getting many viewings. Instead of reducing the price, let us help with an objective eye to see where there are areas that may be putting off potential buyers. There are a lot of simple tricks that won’t cost a lot to implement, and we’ll consider clutter, layout, lighting, and décor.

I also offer pre-photography styling and pre-photography decluttering.

And the best thing is, by decluttering now, you reduce the amount of unwanted or unneeded things you take into your new home (and save some money on removals).

This service works equally for private sales or lettings.


Business/work productivity

Paperwork Services - If the paperwork’s piling up and you can never find what you need, or have lost documents, let me help you review and sort through your papers, identify what doesn’t need to be kept and confidentially dispose of non-essential papers. Once you’re on top of the paperwork I can look at developing a simple filing system and suitable storage solutions, so you stay there.


Digital/computer organisation

Digital Declutter - If your desktop is crowded, you can never find a file or your inbox is groaning, I can help with a digital declutter. I can clear up email and folders, creating a new filing and version control system so you can easily find all your documents electronically.

Digital Legacy - A digital legacy refers to everything we leave behind in the online world. Our digital presence can be a well-organised archive or a confusing mess. So much of our digital life is locked behind passwords, it can be hard for family members to access or manage when the time comes.

Photo Organising - if your phone is full, I can help organise your photos to save you space, and possibly money too.


Move Management

Moving House can be an exciting change, or overwhelming, especially when downsizing. I can help declutter before you move – why pay to move items you no longer want – and unpacking and organising once you’ve moved

Downsizing or Moving into Residential Care can be a difficult decision. It can feel like getting rid of a lifetime of treasured possessions, and sometimes bringing in someone who can be a little more objective, can help take away some of the stress. I can help with every step of the way.

Bereavement and going through the possessions of a loved one following bereavement is a very emotional process and takes time. Dealing with a whole house on top of a bereavement can seem like a daunting task, but I can help you sort through this, especially if a house clearance service may not be the right thing at this stage.


Liz took away the stress of downsizing to a new home. The Home Sorter de-cluttered my home first, and planned my move to a new house. As I have mobility issues Liz unpacked all my belongings and carefully arranged items of furniture for me in my new home. Following a bereavement, I faced the task of dealing with probate and a house sale which was overwhelming, and I realised I needed help and support. Liz understood the situation, what needed to be done and most importantly the pace I needed to go at – how much I could cope with at each point! To help me clear the house she started small and suggested we just clear some books out first. Just doing that one small thing made me feel better able to clear some more. Her advice and help to declutter the house and make it presentable for sale was invaluable. The Home Sorter information sheets were very useful and well received by potential buyers.
