I am an experienced social worker, registered with Social Work England. I have extensive experience working with adults in the community who have experienced, or are experiencing hoarding behaviours, neurodivergence, disorganisation and mental health difficulties. I have worked alongside various partner agencies to support people to regain control of their their homes, and empowered them to identify what may have contributed to their current circumstances.
I left my role in statutory social work for the local authority to set up my company which applies a therapeutic, trauma informed and harm reduction approach to those living in cluttered or hoarded homes. My support is highly personalised; allowing support to be structured, but person lead. I work with clients to develop a care and support plan which aims to achieve goals identified by themselves in order of priority.
I have in depth knowledge of legislation applicable to hoarding behaviours and work collaborately with other agencies to ensure all risks pertinent to an individual's living conditions are reduced, and their home is safe and accessible and tenancies are maintained.
My therapeutic hoarding support service provides weekly support to work through items and associated feelings in comparison to a one off deep clean, which those with hoarding disorder, whether formally diagnosed or not, are unable to tolerate.
I also offer deep cleans and ongoing maintenance and relapse prevention support to those who require this service. As well as structured organisation and decluttering support to those who may require support in this area due to neurodivergence, trauma, or loss.
I specialised in hoarding support within my role as a social worker for many years, I started my business in May 2025, and have been inundated with referrals from all area teams within my local authority from social care, housing, hospital discharge teams, mental health teams, social prescribers and district nurses whom I have worked Collaboratory with in the past. I have supported many people living in complex circumstances within my professional role as an adult's social worker. I have an innate passion for supporting those living in hoarded homes or chronic disorganisation. I have extensive training in trauma informed practice, understanding of adult social care, housing and mental health legislation and eligibility criteria for available support. Alongside this, I am experienced in adult and children's safeguarding. I have extensive knowledge of theories and models of support applicable to people living in non conventional living conditions, who ore often are experiencing mental health difficulties as the result of adverse childhood experiences, trauma, loss, or neurodivergent conditions such as ADHD, autism, OCD and other mental health conditions.
I have paid privately for extensive and specialised training from Hoarding UK, Hoarding Disorders UK, Clouds End and a variety of Professional Decluttering and Organisation courses.
